Golden Orzo with Saffron
This rich golden pasta side dish is so attractive on a plate, delicious and only takes ten to fifteen minutes to prepare, plus it's good with most any kind of seafood or poultry.
Preparation time: 5 minutesCooking time: 15 minutes
2 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoons Saffron threads or
1/8 teaspoons ground Saffron
1 cup Orzo pasta
2 Tablespoons Unsalted butter
1 In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat the chicken broth and saffron to boiling.
2 Stir in the butter and orzo, stir well until but is melted and dispersed well throughout broth.
3 Cover pot and reduce heat to low and continue to cook until broth is absorbed to desired consistency (ten to fifteen minutes.)
4 Fluff pasta with fork and serve in serving dish or as a side on dinner plates.
This delicious pasta goes well with most any seafood or poultry.
